LORETO VALENZUELA

My work turns toward what resists easy reproduction: the singular presence of bodies, materials, and time.
Rather than producing images of meaning, I try to create situations in which memory embedded in matter can appear through breath, rhythm, and attention.

Coming from an in-between condition, I am drawn to the unstable and the unresolved — to what can only take place here, in this encounter.
The work lives not in explanation, but in its aura: in the intensity of its presence, and in its irreducible bond to site, time, and experience.
