Unfixed Cartographies
Unfixed Cartographies began in 2023 with spiral wire taken from an old art school book that belong to my late son. The work resists resolution: forms curl, loop, and reconfigure like rhizomes beneath a scorched surface. These are not symbols but sensations—emotional cartographies drawn from a body learning to grieve without collapsing.
Working with paper, wire, charcoal, and pastels, I explore light, mid-tones, and the spaces between lines. The practice functions as a meditative response to uncertainty, holding presence and absence in tension. A lesson to accept processes.
