[Translation: a journey]
A hand traces a path—deliberate, fluid, non-linear—drawing as if discovery were happening in real time. The gesture echoes the colonial habit of “mapping” territory as though it were empty: lines imposed over a space already lived in, already named, already dense with other presences.
The act is pleasurable to watch and to perform. That pleasure is the rupture. It asks what it means to enjoy the making of a mark that can also erase—how seduction can disguise violence, how easy it is to mistake inscription for understanding.
Travesías lingers in that contradiction: a soft choreography of control, a quiet question about how we move through the world—whether we dwell with what is there, or redraw it to fit our hand.
